Wireless RF (radio frequency) remote control features maximum operating range 100m. Compared to an infrared (IR) remote control, it allows you to operate the shutter from either direction / angle. It supports unique coding for anti-interference and avoiding wrong operation. 3 operations modes: At W mode, the receiver is active, you can use the transmitter to control the shutter or focus. At O mode, the receiver will be a normal remote switch, and it will not consume any power. At L mode, the receiver will lock the shutter for long exposure.

Great wireless transmitter...
Review Date: February 14, 2010
Reviewer: Koveh Tavakkol,
Save a bunch of money from the more expensive transmitters and get one of these. I have been extremely happy with it. I had a few problems with the original one, and the company immediately shipped me a brand new one. I use it frequently and can't say enough about this thing. Range is excellent from what I have used. Battery life is exceptional..I hardly EVER charge this thing, and it always works and works well. Don't hesitate on this purchase.
Totally Worthless

I bought it for my 40D and it just didn't work consistently. I was using it 10 -15 feet away... sometimes the shutter would release then I'd try again and it wouldn't work. So got up close to the receiver and slowly worked my way away from the camera... once past 6 - 8 feet- it just didn't work.
I tried to trouble shoot it several different ways but it never was reliable.
You get what you pay for. This product totally blows.
little beauty !

I have to start by saying that I looked at all the wireless and wired remotes on Amazon.com since Amazon.ca does not offer the same products. I was also influenced by reading those 99 reviews - thanks your input helped ! Like many on here I was not willing to pay the Canon price for a wireless remote.
First impression out of the box is wow feels solid, smooth texture, no slip grip and felt like I received a quality product.(not cheaply made). I recently helped a friend figure out her Phottix Cleon II and it certainly didn't operate or feel anything like Satechi.
As soon as I received it, tried it out on my Canon EOS 40D and it worked like a charm. The one thing I'm wondering about it is the size of the transmitter , bigger then I thought it would be and I'm not sure about it dangling on the side of my camera in the field but we'll see how it goes. Nice that it comes fully charged!
Fast speedy service , truly impressed with Satechi - wouldn't hesitate to buy their products again.
works great, so far so good!

I found it in good working order, with speedy delivery and have already played with it a couple of times and find the build quality matching perfectly with my needs.
thanks for a great product!
Works as expected, wish it was smaller and higher quality construction

This works as advertised with my Cannon 50D. I'm really glad to have it but I'm not terribly impressed with it. I wish it was smaller and the construction just doesn't feel very high quality for the price.
