Super little scanner!

I had researched lots of these 35mm scanners and asked for this one for Christmas cuz it sounded so good. I can't be more pleased. It is very user friendly. The pics go onto an SD Card, which can then be accessed by your computer. You can take your SD card in somewhere and get the pics developed if you prefer that route. I used my computer. The pics are a little dark, but hey, they were taken almost 40 years ago, and I can use my photo software to adjust or enhance them. I scanned 5 carousels of slides in no time (some hold 80 and some 120). I did lock it up, but that was my fault - I pulled the slide tray out while it was still scanning. Not a problem, I just unplugged it and started over. Thanks, Wolverine, for a great product!
Great, fast little scanner!

This scanner works brilliantly! The only drawback is that we have older rolled negatives and need to cut them into straight strips to scan. The picture quality looks better than I expected and it is actually sort of entertaining to use. The ease of use is wonderful and I was scanning pictures onto my computer in under 10 minutes! The construction is quite sound, too, making me think this will far outlast any negatives my family and I have to scan. A great buy!!
Easy, but pictures too blue

I have digitized about 2,000 slides from my old collection. This gadget is extremely user-friendly, converts four slides at a time. The scanning takes only a couple of seconds per slide. There is no software to be installed, and it does not need to be connected to a PC. The memory card holds 1 gb, so plenty of room before you need to transfer the digital images to your PC.
There is one serious problem though. Every picture comes out with an excessive blue tone. I had to edit each image with editing software like Adobe Photoshop or ACCSee, to restore the correct hue and tone. Beware of this problem before you buy it.
Induced contrast

Reviewer: Howard E. Simmons,
You have a good concept but your color slide copy technique introduces contrast which when viewed or printed is not acceptable. We did not try to copy a color positive yet. Perhaps our technique is not correct. I'll be glad to work with you on this problem.

We have not fully tried the Black and White copy process. Your procedure for changing from negative default(black or color) to a positive default is not easy to follow. Again I may have missed one detail that introduced the problem.

We have many positive slides to print as positive pictures. I hope that something can be done
Poor Quality Scans

I purchased this slide/film scanner February 12, 2009. I received it on the 16th tried it for 3 days. After viewing the images, and trying to improve them with Corel Paint Shop Pro X, I realized that the original scan quality was so poor that as much work I did to improve the quality was not acceptable. The original images don't have very much detail, they are also very contrasty, the color is not true, and is very saturated. The scans are not even close to what you can view with the naked eye. I compared the same pictures I scanned with a Optika Digital Converter that I attach to my digital camera, and the quality is much better with the attachment to my camera, and the time taking scans or pictures is not much different. I have an older Minolta Slide/Film Scanner that scans 4 slides/negatives automatically at a time, but is slower than both the Wolverine scanner and the camera attachment, but the quality is very good. I will continue to use the Minolta Scanner because I can let it scan 4 scans at a time and do other things while it is scanning....usually about 2 minutes for 4 slides. I am returning the Wolverine Scanner because the quality is just not acceptable to me. I read many reviews before purchasing this scanner and most of them were positive, and it had a 4 out of 5 rating, but I found the quality not very good.
