Head attachment gets clogged right away
Review Date: March 1, 2010
Reviewer: Abigail Samoun, Berkeley, USA
I bought this canister vacuum after reading all the positive reviews on Amazon. The suction isn't bad, but the head attachment gets clogged almost immediately. It's way too complicated and a pain to clean out---and it's useless cleaning it out because it gets clogged in five seconds anyway. We end up using the crevice attachment instead, but cleaning an entire house with a crevice attachment is time-consuming. I'm currently looking for a different head attachment that I can adapt to this Panasonic model.
Multi-surface brush doesn't clean anywhere
Review Date: January 23, 2010
Reviewer: J. Shiga,
There are basically two types of vacuum cleaners: upright and canister, and according to the Consumer Reports magazine, upright works better for cleaning carpeted floor while canister for hardwood floor. I see the Panasonic's effort to combine two together adding the agitator in the head, but it was a terrible idea. In fact, the multi-surface brush doesn't clean well for any types of surfaces: on carpeted floor the suction power is not enough and on hardwood floor the agitator spreads small pieces on the floor instead of sucking them. In addition, the bulky head makes ugly black scratch marks all over from the baseboard moldings to linoleum. To make more matters worse, the head was completely cut off from the hose today after only a year usage, which indicates its cheap quality. I had to drag out my old half-broken Mighty Mites vacuum cleaner to clean my house instead and found out great joy to use the vacuum cleaner which simply sucks instead of spreading small pieces.

This vacuum cleaner has so little suction that cleaning my area rug poorly takes at least 45 minutes. The brush gets so clogged so quickly that all I do is rip stuff out of it after a few minutes. It is so bloodly awful that there is no word bad enough for it.
Great Light vacuum

I read many many reviews for weeks before purchasing this vacuum. I have mostly hardwood floors, a few rugs, steps that need vacuuming and 5 cats. My previous Hoover upright vacuum died, and i am very glad i purchased a canister type. It has great suction, is light to carry and picks up all the cat hair. I can't believe I waited so long to purchase this. I highly recommend this product.
Dont' buy for carpetted floors

Reviewer: C. Gibbons,
I am very disappointed in this vacuum's performance on carpet. It just does not do a good job on carpet. It does poorly with animal fur on carpet. The suction is poor even at the maximum level. The canister flips over easily and turns itself off. I regret this purchase of a canister vacuum. It does well on tile but not on carpet. I'm going out and buying an upright vacuum today.
