Awesome device, But Software is HORRIBLE

Review Date: March 14, 2010
Reviewer: RPE4411,
From the moment I opened the package I knew that this was a exceptional device. and it has been offering about 4hr of video and a off and on all day power for music. the durability is good since I have dropped 3 feet at times but it is unscathed. it locks up at times, but that might be fixed on the next firmware release. The one complaint is that the software is horrible. Once i plugged it in and it randomly started deleted my music and videos. it does works ok if you can tame it from syncing right away so you know whats going on. I would buy again, except that Microsoft seriously needs to do a makeover on the Software.
The birthday present that wasn't

Well, the Zune didn't work when I got it, so I had to make an emergency run to Walmart the night before the 13 year old's birthday and ended up spending more that I intended for an Ipod Nano. Because, well, you know, 13 is a pretty big birthday event. Then having to spend the money on the Ipod threw my budget off kilter, and OF COURSE, I had to wait for the refund from Tiger Direct, but I must admit, the return/refund process was the best part of this transaction -- it was pretty seamless and I had my money back as fast as possible.
Horribe product and service experience

Review Date: March 6, 2010
Reviewer: P. Mcintosh,
I bought this Zune and had battery problems from day 1. After trying everything they recommended over about a 2 month period (cycling battery, etc.) I gave up and sent it in for service. They sent me back a different replacement model. So I called them to explain this and they said they were out of stock on the 8gb version and that's why they gave me the bigger one. I want the small one for working out - I have a full size iPod already. So, they basically offered me a free month on the Zune site for my inconvenience. WTF.

Bad product and bad service. Get an iPod.
Zune vs Ipod .. the winner hands down is

Reviewer: The Dude, Chicago
I dropped my Ipod and picked up a Zune to replace it because it was half the price. Even at half the price this product is grossly over priced. Unless you enjoy cumbersome music management and if you have a MAC with Itunes good luck with that, I won't even go into all the hoops I jumped thur to get the zune to work. Listen do yourself a favor..if you can afford Ipod or Itouch just do it make life simple. Oh and it sounds tinny

Good luck
This is the second Zune that has died on me.

I like the simplicity of the Zune, but this is the second none HD zune that has up and died. This one didn't even last a day, the other one died after a few months. I just bought a Zune HD and so far, so good-I pray I am not making a mistake by staying with Zune and not switching to I-pod. I would stay away from the older Zunes and go with the new HD model, it offers much more for your money and sounds a lot better.
